Lifts For Lucca

Time to move some weight!

Please join us for this event as we help support a special guy at CFM Saturday February 17th. 

8:30am Doors Open **there will be NO REGULAR CLASS Saturday morning**
9:40am Athlete Briefing. 10:00am Lifts Start

Event: CrossFit Total. Max lift for Back Squat, Strict Press, and Deadlift. 

The event is open to everyone and all abilities. 

Lucca’s Story: 

January 10th we noticed Lucca having some trouble with his eye. Thinking it was infected we brought him to the vet to have it checked out. A few days later he was not using his front leg properly. A few days after that he essentially lost all control of his legs and mouth.  He was unable to stand, walk or eat properly. 

Those of you that know how athletic and energetic he is can see how blindsided we were when his symptoms progressed so rapidly. 

After a few days at the ER and a mountain of medical testing we are still left without an exact diagnosis. What they did confirm through MRI was inflammation in his brain and brain stem. He was given an IV of chemo and placed on steroids to try and combat some of the brain inflammation, which has helped reduce his symptoms, but not eliminate them. 

One thing is for certain, Lucca is a fighter! He has been getting around on 3 legs and has started to show some of his personality again. 

Through this his medial costs have been monstrous. We will continue to do whatever we can for him, but we know this will be a tough journey ahead.  On behalf of our family and Lucca THANK YOU to everyone in advance ❤️
