Today is the day folks!  Doors will be open at 9am; athletes plan to be in house and warmed up by 10am for the athlete briefing to cover the workouts, standards and on goings of the day.  Heat 1 WOD 1 will start at 10:30am.  Unless you absolutely can not get here make sure you are ready; mouth closed ears open when briefing starts. The day will flow much better if we all are on the same page.

Please plan to park in the school parking lot so that we do not have a flood of cars around the building.  Don’t forget to bring water and snacks for during the competition.  Assuming there will be a lot of people bringing their own coolers. it is likely that the best place may be to situate them by the outside ramp to keep the inside of the gym open.  Adult beverages and whatever food people are bringing we will dive into once the last WOD ends.

Yes today is about fun and bringing our community together for a good cause but Pat and I have organized and planned this out to give all of you a sense of real competition.  Plan to judge, be judged and preform at the best of your ability.  Leave the nervousness at the door, don’t over think things, harness the awesome power of the energy in the building and in turn contribute to that energy when others have their turn on the bar.  We all show up here day after day to do one thing, get better.  Keeping a high standard on movements, rep counts is a major part of that.  Today is the day for some of you to step outside your comfort zone just as you did on your first day of CrossFit.  Pick up the 14# wallball and get it over the line.  You might miss some, it might feel 10x heavier than the 12# ball you’re used to; SO WHAT!  Give everything you have each rep, make it count, make it legit, leave no doubt for your judge and then high five the crap out of everyone after.

As I mentioned before there is a big picture to all of this aside from the fun and festivities.  Any and all donations made will be given 100% to the Lowell Junior High Football League.  The league is run entirely off of donations and volunteers giving access to sports to kids that otherwise would potentially have none.  We are suggesting a $10 donation at the door, if you wish to give more by all means please do.

Josh Aslanian who we all know and love to try and beat in WODs is one of these volunteer coaches and I would just like to thank him for helping assist in getting today’s throwdown together.  Be sure to support Josh as he heads out on October 26th to the CrossFit New England Masters Competition.

I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone. Also thank you in advance to all our volunteers and to Coach Pat for all their hard work!
